These Amber Glass Vials are ideal for re-packaging Potable Aqua iodine tablets so they will fit in mini survival kits. Although the manufacturer of Potable Aqua does not recommend re-packaging the tablets because it degrades the shelf life from 4 years to one year, many people building survival kits have been doing it for years. You just have to remember to restock your bottles once a year. These bottles are Amber, like the bottle used by the factory, and have special Teflon caps which are required for packaging iodine (Note: the caps may be black, blue, or white - no choice). The bottles are shown above in comparison to the original Potable Aqua bottle. The smallest, to the right, is a 5/8 Dram bottle and will hold 20 tablets with room for cotton in the top. The center bottle, a 1 Dram, will hold 40 tablets with room for cotton in the top. Both bottles fit easily in an "Altoids" tin type survival kit. Please note that these are for repackaging Iodine tablets only. Never repackage Chlorine Dioxide tablets.
